Lee

Lee Roy Selmon's history combines family football scholarship and volunteerism in the community. His family's first name is his father was the youngest of nine kids raised in Eufala with Lucious Selmon. In second football, he was one of three brothers who were players for Oklahoma. All three were All-Americans. One year 1973 Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy received the Outland & Lombardi Awards for being the best lineman of the United States. Over the course of three seasons, Roy was a starter, Oklahoma won two National Championships. The National Football Foundation named him a Scholar-Athlete for the third time in the year 1975. Selmon received his bachelor's diploma in education. Lee Roy spent ten hours every week in volunteer work during his college years. Then he settled in Tampa after graduation, and was a member of the Buccaneers for nine years and was three-times all-pro. His business career began. In 1988, while working as an account representative at First Florida Bank of Tampa He was a member of the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It's no wonder in 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce named him as one of the country's 10 outstanding young men. Lee Roy stood 6-2 in size and weighed in at 256 pounds as a college player he captained the 1975 team. Lee Roy joined the University of South Florida in 1993 as the associate director of sports. He was named associate director of athletics by the College Football Hall of Fame recognized him in the year 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. In 1989 The Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation gave their Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Sr. Henry Bellmon is the Oklahoma governor, who presented this award.
