Dolly-Parton

Born on Jan. 19th of 1946 Locust Ridge Tenn into a poverty-stricken family which would later include 12 children Dolly Parton learned early to get away from the struggles of life by using her vivid and expansive imagination. Songs were written by her before she was able to read and write. At the age of 8years old, she purchased her first electric guitar and started singing at an Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. In the following time, Gold Band Records was an independent label. Although she was at school, she already made a name of herself in the local music scene. Her goal was to to perform at a much greater scale. She relocated to Nashville the day after graduating in 1964. Dumb Blonde (1967) and Something Fishy (1968) were the first two albums to chart for Monument Records. Around this time, Porter Wagoner was looking for an actress to sing for his television show that was syndicated. Parton began her career in the year 1967 she signed with RCA Records by 1968, she joined the Grand Ole Opry. She left Wagoner's show, however, in 1974 because her albums on her own like Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene exceeded the sales of their joint albums. Parton's hit song, I'll Never Be Loved by You (for Wagoner), was able to reach the No. number 1 position after the duo split. The first time in 1974.
